HBO Max rolls out weekly anime releases until October with Frieren, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyu!!, Black Clover, and more.






HBO Max is going all-in on anime fans, announcing a massive lineup of releases between August and October. Every Tuesday, new episodes and complete seasons will arrive on the platform, with simultaneous broadcasts on [adult swim]. The lineup includes some of the most popular titles in recent years, such as Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, Jujutsu Kaisen, Black Clover, Haikyu!!, Spy Family, The Apothecary Diaries, and My Hero Academia.
Anime Release Schedule
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End – First part already available. Follow the emotional journey of Frieren, an elf seeking to understand the human bonds she left behind. New episodes every Tuesday.
The Apothecary Diaries – Premieres August 12. Maomao, sold as a servant, rises to prominence by solving medical mysteries in the imperial palace. Full season on August 19.
Spy Family – Premieres August 26. A spy, an assassin, and a telepath child form an unlikely family. Full season on September 16.
Haikyu!! – Season 4 premieres September 2. Karasuno High prepares for the Spring Tournament in Tokyo. Three seasons already available.
Jujutsu Kaisen – Premieres September 9. Yuji Itadori enters the world of curses and sorcery. The movie Jujutsu Kaisen 0 also drops the same day.
Black Clover – Premieres September 23. Asta dreams of becoming Wizard King despite having no magic. Season 2 arrives August 30.
My Hero Academia – Premieres October 7. Izuku Midoriya, born without powers, strives to become a hero.
Beyond this lineup, HBO Max confirmed that new seasons of Spy Family, Black Clover, and My Hero Academia will also arrive later in 2025. The platform’s catalog already features classics like Death Note and Naruto, along with upcoming anticipated releases such as Dragon Ball Daima and Lazarus (Adult Swim).
