Netflix teases One Piece Season 2 for 2026 and confirms Season 3, with production starting in 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa.

Fans of One Piece have double the reason to celebrate. During the annual One Piece Day event in Tokyo, Netflix unveiled the first look at the highly anticipated second season of the live-action adaptation. Scheduled to premiere in 2026, the reveal came with exciting news: the series has already been renewed for a third season, with filming set to begin later this year in Cape Town, South Africa. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for the upcoming season.

Based on Eiichiro Oda’s record-breaking manga, One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates as they search for the legendary treasure that will crown Luffy the King of the Pirates. Season 2 will take the crew into the fabled Grand Line, a treacherous stretch of ocean known for unpredictable seas, strange islands, and formidable foes.

Since its 2023 debut, the live-action adaptation has become a worldwide phenomenon, staying in the Netflix Global Top 10 for eight weeks and reaching the #1 spot in over 75 countries, including Japan — a first for an English-language Netflix series. It has racked up nearly 100 million views and earned 11 nominations at the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, including Best Young Teen Series.

Beyond the screen, One Piece will also expand into an immersive experience at Netflix House and launch official merchandise, including LEGO sets and Moose Toys figures, available via Netflix Shop and global retailers.
