The One Piece universe is set to grow with a brand-new spin-off anime entirely focused on the saga’s most iconic female characters. The series will adapt One Piece: Heroines, a book released in 2021 containing short stories starring the women of Eiichiro Oda’s world. The English translation was released in April this year.
The announcement came via One Piece’s official X/Twitter account during One Piece Day 2025 celebrations. The event also brought other big reveals, including confirmation of the third season of Netflix’s live-action adaptation and the announcement of a new video game.
The cast of featured heroines includes Nami, Nico Robin, Boa Hancock, Uta, Perona, Tashigi, and Reiju Vinsmoke, among others. The anime will be directed by Haruka Kamatani, with Momoka Toyoda as scriptwriter and Takashi Kojima handling character design.
No release date has been set yet, but anticipation is already high among fans, as the project promises to explore unique moments and delve deeper into the personalities of these beloved characters.
Meanwhile, the main One Piece storyline continues in both the manga and anime, now in its final saga, with major plot developments unfolding regularly. First published in 1997, One Piece began its TV adaptation in 1999 and remains one of the most influential and enduring franchises in Japanese pop culture.
